Cross Week of 11-1

It was sure great to get out of the regional and head to state as a team! To have each team win their regional was a bonus and something we never take for granted. For those that don’t know, the state finals are at Michigan International Speedway ( MIS ) in Brooklyn, MI on Saturday. Here are the details for the varsity:
State team meets @ school at 8:30
    Team departs @ 8:45
    Girls race @ 1:30
    Boys race @ 2:50
    Awards @ 4:00
I am looking into a JV/fan bus as well, but need enough kids on it to make it worthwhile. If your child would like to go, they must sign up for that bus in coach Hoekstra’s room either Monday or Tuesday. I will send out an email on Wednesday saying if the bus is a go and all details of that trip. Please remember, they must sign up by Tuesday.  ( It would be nice to have some parents on board too. Just let me know if you can. )
We have talked to the JV’s about continuing to train much later into the year to avoid long down times as we approach exams, Christmas break, and Winterim. So, all JV’s will meet, starting tomorrow, in coach Hoekstra’s room. We will have a daily plan for them, with some down time planned later in the year. However, if your child is injured, they should take time off running now in order to heal. They can still train in the weight room on  bikes and the Zero Runner though.
We have selected a date for the team banquet. It will be Monday, November 22 in the All City Gym. It is later than normal because gym space was hard to get once basketball begins. We will supply pizza, place settings, and drinks. Please bring a salad or dessert. The banquet will begin at 6 and conclude by 8:30. It is tradition to have seniors and juniors help with set up. They should arrive by 5:15 for that.
As I always do, I want to ask you to pray for the team. We really appreciate it! I hope to see you at the finals, Doug
