Cross week of 10-12

Parents:
Here is what’s happening this busy week in cross country: – Tuesday is our final JV league meet of the season. It will take place at Gainey with our normal week day start times. The boys will run at 4:30 and the girls at 5:15. Two spectators per athlete may attend. We will have one bus to the meet that will leave soon after school. This bus typically takes soccer players to the Gainey, but will take us on Tuesday. There will be NO return bus back to school.
The next day, on Wednesday, the varsity ( 8 ) will run in the OK White final right back at the same course we ran at last Wednesday at Byron Center West athletic complex. Boys race at 4:30 and girls at 5:15. As was the case last week, our bus will leave at 2:45. I will notify school of our kids that need to leave on line school early that day. Again, 2 spectators per athlete.
Finally, we have the County Meet at the Gainey on Saturday. We will sit some of our varsity for this race, but not all. I’m hopeful that most everybody else can run this race. Please have your child check our final roster and start times for their race. We will have high school races beginning at 9:00 ( boys ), 9:30 ( girls ), 11:00 ( boys ), and 11:30 ( girls ). Because we need to limit the race size, we will split our team into these four different races.  We may have 2 spectators per athlete, but it will cost $5.00 per person to attend. We are also still in need of volunteer help for this meet. If you are able to help, please let me know soon. In addition, we would love to have any sponsor help with this meet. Our team usually takes in some money from CFE and County meet sponsors, but in this unusual year, we are understandably way down from our normal amount. As I’ve mentioned before, all proceeds are used for our team. Thanks for considering this request.
It’s hard to believe, but the County meet will be our final race for the JV runners. All other opportunities are for the varsity only, as part of the MHSAA tournament. Just to remind you, we now have a pre-regional race on Friday, October 23 at South Christian. Boys run at 4:00 and girls run at 4:30. The top 4 teams advance to the regional final in Otsego the following Saturday.
Please continue to pray for the team and coaches. We really appreciate it, Doug
