Cross week of Sept 21

Parents: If you were able to see the races at MSU Friday, you witnessed just how many great cross country teams there are in Michigan. The competition was very tough. Now, for the first time this season, we run an official race at Gainey. Both Wednesday and Saturday’s meets take place on our home course. Wednesday’s meet is OK White jamboree #2. As is the case for every league meet, girls all run together at 4:45 and boys at 5:30. NO BUSES to this meet because we are at home.  Saturday’s meet, also at Gainey, is the Cougar/Falcon at the Eagle’s Nest. We tri-host this meet with Catholic Central and West Catholic. Each school shares the work and money earned from the meet. Here is the schedule for this meet:9:45 – Varsity Girls10:15 – Varsity Boys10:45 – JV Girls11:15 – JV Boys11:45 – Freshman Girls & Boys12:10 – high school awardsPlease note the special Freshman race. It’s nice to see our “rookies” compete against only 9th graders. There will be NO TRANSPORTATION  to this meet. Please have your child to the Gainey by 8:00. Team members and volunteers need to park in Church of the Servant and walk into the Gainey. There is a $5.00 per car fee for this event. If you have volunteered to help at this meet, your job is listed below. It will also be posted at Gainey. Each school has several parents signed up, so I’m confident jobs can be covered while you cheer for your son or daughter.  Once again we have weights tomorrow morning at 7:15. We average about 30 kids at these morning sessions. With other teams also present, it’s a busy place on Monday morning! Parents, thanks for praying for our team & coaches. It is needed and appreciated as we progress through the season together. See you Wednesday and Saturday at Gainey!  Doug
