Cross Week of Aug 27

Despite the weather, it was great to travel to Benzie and race again. There were numerous PR’s on the flat Benzie course. The trip to Frankfort for lunch after the meet was also fun and relaxing for the team and coaches. We now don’t race again for two weeks, but hope to train hard and improve before that. Here are details for this week:
On Monday, we once again offer the early morning run for the team. Kids may gather at 6:15AM and head out to do our longest run of the week. Those that run early will then do some drills and weight lifting at our normal practice time. For those that don’t run in the morning, they can run at our usual practice time.
As you know, this coming weekend is the Labor Day holiday. We will not have organized practices on Friday, Saturday, or next Monday. Kids will be told what to do, and are expected to complete it. Also, many will undoubtable plan times to meet together and run.
Finally, I’d like to offer the chance once again to sponsor one or both of our invitationals. We receive 100% of any sponsor money collected. The money is then spent on our team. For example, the kids all received short sleeve warm up shirts this season, and will also receive a long sleeve dry-fit shirt when they arrive. If you’d like to sponsor, the fee is $250 for one meet, or $400 for both. The meets we host are the Cougar Falcon Meet at the Eagles nest on September 22 and the County Meet on October 13. All checks should be made out to GR Christian High and should be sent to me directly. I will insure they are credited to our team. We also still have need for volunteers to work at both races. Please email me if you’d like to help out.
Thanks for your continued support. It was great to see so many fans cheering the Eagles on Saturday. We really enjoy a great fan/parent base. As always, please be in prayer for our team and coaches as we work together.
Thanks, Doug
