Cross week of 8-28

It was a beautiful day to race at Benzie yesterday. The cool temperatures and fast course helped the kids run great times. The day at the beach topped of the day. There are no meets this week, but still a few items for you to note:
Our typical Monday yoga has a twist this week. Our yoga teacher can not make it in the morning, so we are offering the kids the opportunity to run in the morning at 6:45 and then do yoga in the afternoon at our usual practice time. If they choose not to run in the morning, they will run as always at 3:00. Several of the kids were excited to run right away instead of the heat in the afternoon. I hope to see big participation tomorrow morning.
As you are aware, we have no school Friday to Monday with the Labor Day break. We will have no organized practices those days, but the kids are expected to complete the runs as scheduled for them. The entire week will be printed for them by Monday. I’m sure there will be practice times organized by the kids, so if your child is interested, have them ask around.
We still have several spots to fill at our first big invite at home on September 23. We still need 7 more volunteers to help in the parking lots. If you are able to volunteer even an hour, please let me know. Large meets attract big crowds and require lots of help to run well.
I want to remind you that we would love to have some sponsors for our two large home invites. As I mentioned at the parent meeting, 100% of all sponsor money goes directly to our gift account and is spent on needs of the team. Some big purchases over the last couple years include the beautiful tent we have, mile marker signs, 2 stationary bikes, and the Zero Runner. ( The last two items are used by injured runners. The boosters also gave big money for these too.) The cost to sponsor 1 meet is $250 and $400 for both meets. If interested for either a family or business, please let me know. Thanks so much!!
I believe that’s it for this week. Thank you for continuing to pray for the team and coaches. We really appreciate it, Doug
