It was a great day at MIS yesterday as both teams finished in the top ten, the boys 10th and the girls 5th. One parent pointed out to me that we were not even sure the girls would get out of our regional, maybe finishing 5th there, so to end fifth overall is something to indeed be thankful about. In fact, we are thankful for the whole season, the fun, the hard work, the challenges, and the set backs that prepare you better for life. We are so thankful for your support as well, and especially your prayers!
We do have a couple items this week to finish our year, 1) Uniforms and sweats must be turned in. Please make sure they are cleaned, no pins on them, and pockets emptied. Uniform turn in is Monday and Tuesday this week, right after school in the usual practice spot, the AC lobby. Please get these in so I don’t need to chase kids down. 2) When turning uniforms in, your child can vote for MVP and rookie of the year. All varsity members are eligible for MVP, and all new runners who are 9th or 10th grade are eligible for rookie of the year. ( The same person can’t win both, if that happens the first award goes to MVP.)
Our banquet is Monday, November 19 in the All City Gym. Because we need to wait until basketball is done, our banquet will begin at 7:30. We will end by 9:30. We will supply pizza, place settings, and drinks. Please bring a salad or dessert to share. Seniors should arrive by 7:00 to help set up.
Camp dates for 2019 are – Middle School July 15-18 ( remember we have Jr counselors here if your child is interested.)
High School camp is July 21-26 I will get the new brochures and camp info on eaglesrunning.com later this month.
Thanks again for your great support. See you at the banquet, Doug
