It was great to see the kids respond to cool weather as more than 50 kids set PR’s or SB’s yesterday at Otsego! Here is what’s happening this week:
Monday is our typical yoga day and tomorrow is no exception. However, we will meet 30 minutes later, at 7:30. Those who come will run our usual pre-race easy run and then do yoga at 3:30. Those who can’t make our morning run, will run at our normal practice time.
Tuesday brings our second OK Gold jamboree. The race will be at Johnson Park. Girls run at 4:45 and boys at 5:15. The team and coaches are not very familiar with this course as we have not run here in several years. There will be transportation both directions.
On Saturday we travel to Portage West Middle School for the Portage Invite. This large meet is very competitive for our division as most of the ranked teams will collide 4 weeks out from the final. We will have a bus both to Portage and back. We will leave at 10:15 from school. The race times are as follows:
Girls Varsity 1:00
Boys Varsity 2:00
Girls JV 3:00
Boys JV 4:00
Bus home 5:30
Please leave plenty of time to get into this busy meet.
You may have heard your child talk about the Foot Locker trip. We are planning on this annual trip the weekend of Thanksgiving. This optional trip is quite fun. The kids do run, but also get a chance to see the best runners in the midwest. Here are details of the trip:
We leave from high school by motor coach at 10:15 AM Friday, November 24 and travel to Kenosha, WI. We spend the night at a hotel and run the race at Parkside College Saturday. We return Saturday about 9:00PM. The cost is $80.00 per person. This includes the motor coach, hotel, and breakfast. It does not include other meals or entry into the meet. To enter the meet go to footlockercc.com Be sure to enter the MIDWEST meet. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE PASTA MEAL. For your information, we take the kids to an outlet mall Friday too. If you have questions, you may call me at 723-6345.
That’s it for this week. As always, please keep praying for us. See you Tuesday, Doug
