The team survived the heat and competition of MSU. It’s truly amazing to see the talent in Michigan. Here is what’s happening in cross this week:
Monday – Yoga at 7:00 AM. We are getting a good turn out for these Monday strength/core days. I hope your chid can join us.
Wednesday – Our first league meet is at home, the Gainey. THERE IS NO TRANSPORTATION TO THIS MEET. Kids need to find their own ride. All kids must be at the Gainey by 3:15 PM. Race times are all girls at 4:45 and all boys at 5:15.
Saturday is the CFE meet, also at Gainey. We tri-host this meet with Catholic Central and West Catholic. It’s great to host a large meet, but it takes lots of help. If you can help, please let me know ASAP and we will add your name. For those that have volunteered, please arrive by 7:00AM and check in at the registration table near concessions. THERE IS ALSO NO TRANSPORTATION TO THIS MEET. This meet also has a Freshman only race, for those not running varsity. Here are race details for the day:
Arrive by 8:15
Girls varsity at 9:45
Boys varsity at 10:15
Girls JV at 10:45
Boys JV at 11:15
Freshman at 11:45
Awards at 12:30
Finally, we have really been emphasizing the “little” things this year. Six things that can help your running when not training. They include sleep, good diet, water intake, knowing your iron levels and taking iron if needed, daily devotions, and daily stretching, rolling, and icing. Each week we talk about this hoping they will buy into these little things and improve their running.
Please continue to pray for us! Thanks, Doug
